Private Referrals

I am happy to see both insured and uninsured patients at my rooms in Newcastle Private Hospital. Normal consultation rates apply. Patients without insurance who need surgery are booked into John Hunter Hospital with the cost covered under Medicare. Patients with insurance are booked into Newcastle Private or Lingard Hospitals with costs apportioned by Medicare and their insurer.

Referrals can be made electronically through GP practice software, emailing admin@drghent.com.au, or by fax on 02 4027 5054.

Public Referrals

All patients can be seen through John Hunter Hospital public outpatient clinic at no cost. Please be aware that the waiting list can be lengthy.

These referrals are managed by the John Hunter Hospital Referral Management Centre, for which the fax number is 02 4922 3900, and phone contact number is 02 4922 3912.
